The Gentleman's Groom Room are pleased to announce the launch of the first products in our OWN range, the specially formulated SWEET GALE Traditional glycerine Shaving Soap and SCOTTISH HEATHER Traditional glycerine Shaving Soap.
Being a Scottish based business we wanted to capture the essence of Scotland in our product range and believe we have achieved that in both our SWEET GALE traditional shaving soap, and our SCOTTISH HEATHER traditional shaving soap, which contain Bog Myrtle (Sweet Gale), Heather, Scottish Honey and of course Whisky.
The Gentleman's Groom Room's ESSENCE OF SCOTLAND range of fantastic glycerine shaving soaps have been specially formulated and custom blended with the main ingredients being carefully selected by shaving and male grooming specialist Ian Thomson at The Gentleman's Groom Room. Our Traditional Shaving Soaps are totally unique fragrances and products. These luxury shaving soaps are in production and will be available from our Dundee shop and our on-line store in August. The Gentleman's Groom Room Traditional Scottish shaving soaps produce an excellent lather when used with a shaving brush, to perfectly prepare the skin for a close and comfortable shave.

BOG MYRTLE
Bog Myrtle, also called Sweet Gale has beautifully fragrant leaves. This native herb has anti-ageing properties, may help to control acne bacteria, has healing properties that can help with minor nicks and cuts and is suitable for sensitive skin. However the uses of Bog Myrtle are too often overlooked in men's shaving and grooming products.
HEATHER
Heather is one of Scotland's most prolific and abundant plants, with a delicate floral aromatic scent. Heather can be a beneficial anti-inflammatory on the skin and contains anti-ageing properties. It also blends well with another ingredient used in our SCOTTISH HEATHER shaving soap, Scottish Honey. Many Scots beekeepers will take their hives up to the moors when the Heather is in bloom.
SCOTTISH HONEY
People are rediscovering the benefits of this wonderful natural ingredient and you can find honey in a number of products sold at The Gentleman's Groom Room such as Taylor Of Old Bond Street's highly effective Herbal Skin Moisturiser and Taylor's Luxury Honey Handwash as honey offers incredible antiseptic, antioxidant and cleansing properties. Honey is also an anti-irritant and is suitable for sensitive skin and is a great asset in a shave soap. Also honey when used together with cinnamon spice, as it is in our range of shaving soaps is known to help with minor skin infections and spots.
SCOTTISH WHISKY
The single malt chosen to give our SWEET GALE shaving soap an extra twist was Aberfeldy Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the distillery is located on the edge of Perthshire, only a short drive from The Gentleman's Groom Room Dundee. Founded in 1896 Aberfeldy combines the fresh spring water of the Pitile Burn with the skill of generations of craftsmen to produce this outstanding single malt whisky. Aromas of peat, heather-honey, raisins, Seville oranges and wood spice are present in this 12 year old scotch whisky. When it came to adding a 'nip' of whisky to our shaving soap it was essential it be a malt. Malt whisky is a different cratur from the blended scotch. Worthy of appreciation, malt is not to be rushed, it rewards consideration. We believe the same is true of the shaving experience.
