Wet Shave And Hot Towels

A traditional wet shave exfoliates the skin and allows the skin to breathe leaving fresh clean skin and a healthy glow.  Using high quality shaving products is so important in achieving the perfect shave.  The Gentleman's Groom Room pride itself in stocking only the very best shaving products and requisites.  To have the face swathed in hot towels, lathered, shaved, moisturised and massaged is a truly luxurious and pleasurable experience.                                      

Wet Shaves

Jack's Express   £15

First a hot towel is applied , followed by Jack Black face buff , a deep cleansing pre-shave cleanser and scrub that removes dirt and dead skin cells allowing the razor to get closer. A second hot towel is then applied followed by an application of Jack Black beard lube an award winning product that is perfectly suited to our express shave as it is a pre-shave oil, shave cream and facial skin treatment all in one product.  You will them be shaved with a Geo F Trumper razor using a mach 3 blade, we use a Trumper razor for our express shave as they truly provide unrivalled balance and control. When the shave is complete another hot towel is applied, followed by a cold compress to close down the pores. To finish the Jack's express shave Jack Black post shave cooling gel is massaged into the skin, this product will sooth, soften and hydrate the skin.               

Traditional Turkish Shave   £20

This begins with traditional ear hair burning by flame. A hot towel is then applied to the face in preperation for the shave, followed by a quality facial exfoliant, then a second hot towel. At The Gentleman's Groom Room - Jermyn Grooming and Lifestyle Suite we use Arko Turkish shave soap for this shave , the number one choice of the traditional Turkish barber. Using the highest quality boar hair brush this famous soap is lathered onto the face.The shave is performed with an open razor, and another hot towel is applied. Once this is removed it is time to hold on to you seat!  Staying true to a Turkish shave style, lemon cologne is splashed on to the face to close down the pores, followed by an application of moisturiser and talc. Threading may be used if required, nose hair trim optional.

American Smooth Shave  £25  

A hot towel is applied followed by Maxwell's Apothecary gentle exfoliant with jojoba beads to remove dirt and dead skin cells allowing the razor to get closer. A second hot towel is then used followed by Maxwell's Apothecary Smooth Shaves, shave gel which is applied using the finest quality super/silvertip badger hair shaving brush. The shave is performed with an open razor, next another hot towel followed by a cold compress to close the pores . To finish this shave Maxwell's To Tone herbal toner is splashed on to the freshly shaven face. This unique preparation calms and soothes the skin surface while cleansing, freshening and toning the skin, followed by Maxwell's Razor Relief aftershave balm and moisturiser which is massaged into the face.

Jermyn Luxury Shave  £30  

This shave begins with a hot towel scented with Geo F Trumper extract of West Indian limes cologne, followed by a quality facial scrub to remove dirt and dead skin cells to allow the blade to get closer.

Next a second limes scented towel, followed by Trumpers skin food as a pre-shave preparation this helps the razor glide easier on the skins surface, a truly exceptional product. The face is then lathered with a Trumper's glycerin based shave cream or soap, The Gentleman's Groom Room stock the full range of Trumper shaving creams and soaps and the choice will be discussed during your consultation. The finest quality super/silvertip badger shaving brush will be used to apply the shaving cream and you will be shaved by an open razor.  

Next a third fragrant hot towel and a cold compress to close down pores. To finish the shave a second application of Geo F Trumper skin food, this is used post shave to seal the skin, followed by Trumper's moistuiser massaged into the face. As you are about to leave you will be offered a dash of one of Trumper's matchless hand-made colognes.
