Using A Badger Brush

The shaving brush should be run under warm water and shaken so that the brush is wet but not saturated when placed onto the shave soap or cream. A good lather is obtained using a circular motion on the shaving soap, without too much pressure. When using a shave cream a great tip is to use the lid of the pot to build up a lather. The face should then be massaged with the shave brush in gentle circular motions to stimulate the hair allowing the badger hair to lift the beard, stubble until it stands proud, ready to shave.

Why A Badger Hair Brush?

Like human hair, badger hair absorbs rather than repels water and as water is a most necessary constituent of lather, the more water a shaving brush holds the better, heat is also retained for longer. Badger hair is also very soft so it does not irritate the face while lathering.

Care Of Your Badger Brush

After shaving, rince your brush thoroughly in warm water to remove the shaving soap, then with cool water and flick to remove most of the water. The brush can then be wiped on a dry cloth, fluffed out and left in a ventilated place, avoid keeping your shaving brush in a closed cupboard or travel wet pack for any length of time. Badger brushes are best hung on a shaving brush stand so that any water can move away from the base of the hairs.
